Julie Walker Hood, a music education graduate of Western Illinois University, is a resident of Jacksonville.  In 1971,  she was a member of the Liberty Tree Tavern Singers at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, where she worked for two years.  She has been a guest clinician for District IV junior high chorus and other festival choruses in the area.  At Sacred Heart Griffin, Mrs. Hood was a teacher of voice and piano for nearly seven years where she also directed the vocal ensemble "Encore".  Her love of good
choral music led to being a founding member of the Capital Chamber Singers and member of the former Illinois Symphony Chorus for many years.  For  more  than thirty years she

has been the vocal director for many musicals and a featured soloist in numerous places in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri, and Florida.  Currently Julie is a vocal soloist and organist/pianist for Jacksonville churches and is an adjunct music professor at Illinois College.
